Synovial Fluid Collection: Bovine synovial fluid is collected from the metacarpalphalangeal joint (“knuckle”) of 18 month old cows. Alternately synovial fluid can be collected from the stifle joint (“knee”) for an additional procurement fee.

Synovial Fluid Processing: Synovial fluid is briefly centrifuged to remove extraneous material and then aliquotted into cryopreservation tubes. If preferred the samples can be shipped frozen with dry ice or can be shipped unfrozen with an ice pack. All shipments are delivered overnight. The minimum volume sent for metacarpalphalangeal joint synovial fluid is 1ml. Stifle joint synovial fluid is collected “per joint” with no minimum guaranteed volume.
